Man United could consider terminating Jadon Sancho’s contract at the club, amid his ongoing exile.
Manchester United could be close to announcing Sir Jim Ratcliffe as a minority owner in the club, with the Failsworth-born businessman potentially having control of the decisions that will be made at the Theatre of Dreams.
It goes without saying that upon his arrival, Sir Jim will look to change the direction that this club is heading in. Under Glazer power, United have only trended downwards and that has to stop before the Red Devils can even think about winning major trophies again.
Sky Sports News state that once Sir Jim’s stake is confirmed, United plan to take a more ruthless approach in the transfer market. It could all start with Jadon Sancho.
The Englishman has been exiled from the first-team squad after a very public fallout with Erik ten Hag. Now, it’s stated that United are considering terminating the contract of the 23-year-old.
If an exit route for Sancho does not come to the fore, United will consider severing ties with Sancho, rather than looking to recoup some of the £73m fee they paid to bring in the winger from Borussia Dortmund.
In the long term, United want to be more ‘culture focused’ when it comes to decision-making, noting Arsenal as an example of a success story, where cutting ties with players has benefitted the club.
Honestly, this does make sense. United have to start making the right decisions, rather than following the money. Build a good squad with a core group of players that the gaffer can fully trust, then start working forward from there.
