Man United are weighing up the possibility of sending Dan Gore out on loan this month.
Manchester United are at a crossroads right now. The Old Trafford side aren’t playing well, though much of that could be attributed to the injuries that are currently decimating the first-team squad.
We’re now in a January transfer window where signings are unlikely due to FFP restrictions and a real lack of quality being readily available in the mid-season transfer period.
Hence, the club are turning to youth. Kobbie Mainoo looks excellent. Alejandro Garnacho is coming along nicely. Amad has potential.
Sadly, though, there’s not enough space in the squad for everyone. Inevitably, players will have to find their minutes elsewhere via loan moves.
The Manchester Evening News are now reporting that Dan Gore could head out on a short-term deal. United are said to be considering a loan move away for the 19-year-old starlet, who is now on the fringes of the Reds first-team.
Gore looked superb during pre-season tour, leaving all us United fans excited at his talent and natural ability.
With injuries decimating our midfield area of late, Gore has been finding himself in the match-day squad. He’d come off the bench against Aston Villa last week, too.
However, when the likes of Casemiro, Mason Mount and Sofyan Amrabat (AFCON) return, Gore would find his minutes limited. Hence, a loan move away seems like a sensible decision.
Gore needs to be playing regular football in order to continue his development at this point. Aged just nineteen, a loan move to the Football League could offer him the chance to showcase his talents in the Championship or League One – following in Amad’s footsteps, who excelled for Sunderland on loan last term.
Although Gore will be disappointed not to be playing regularly at United, this does feel like the smart decision at this stage of his career.
Joe Hugill and Charlie McNeill could also head out on loan over the next few weeks.
