Manchester United’s squad is already looking threadbare and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may have no choice but to strengthen in January.
Now, according to Goal, United are considering a January swoop for 27-year-old attacking playmaker, Christian Eriksen.
The Dane’s contract expires at the end of next season, with Solskjaer looking to improve the playing squad during the mid-campaign transfer window.
Apparently, the Reds are aware that Daniel Levy doesn’t want to lose Eriksen for nothing next summer, and Tottenham Hotspur’s hand could be forced in just a few months time. However, you’d imagine that other potential suitors will be sniffing around and the Old Trafford outfit won’t have it all their own way.
One big issue is that Eriksen would prefer a move to Spain, namely Real Madrid, with the player not convinced about a move to the Theatre of Dreams – which is understandable given our current predicament.
It goes without saying that the Reds need a new creative spark in midfield, but is Eriksen that man? I’d love to see him in our colours but if the Dane doesn’t fully buy into what United are trying to achieve. We’ve made that mistake before and I’d be keen to avoid a repeat situation playing out once again.
