Man United considering move to sign Maximilian Beier

Man United could look to make a move to sign Maximilian Beier from Hoffenheim.

Manchester United Football Club have already signed one attacker this summer, with Joshua Zirkzee now working hard at the AON Training Complex as he looks to make a positive start at his new club.

I just assumed Zirkzee would be the only attacking addition made this summer, particularly as money is tight for Erik ten Hag.

That may not be the case, if the latest story from TuttoJuve (via TEAMtalk) is correct. They believe that United could have eyes on Hoffenheim striker, Maximilian Beier.

According to their information, United are said to be ‘considering’ a move to sign the 21-year-old Bundesliga starlet. The Reds could face competition from Liverpool for the signature of the German.

It’s believed around £34m will be enough to get a deal done for Beier, who scored 16 goals across all competitions last term. Hoffenheim believe there is a ‘good chance’ their asking price will be met.

United are said to be pondering a swoop to sign Beier, despite the fact that Dan Ashworth would prefer to sign an experienced striker, presumably to help aid the development of both the aforementioned Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund. Perhaps Beier’s talent is too good to pass up on.

The issue here is that money is tight. United are already having to sell players to fund their move to sign Noussair Mazraoui. I’m unsure as to where the Red Devils are going to find another £30m+ from…

That said, this would be another positive signing. Beier is a top prospect, though I suspect he’ll have concerns about the amount of playing time he’d be given with such fierce competition for places in that United final third.

Do you think a Man United move to sign another striker would make sense? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
