Man United could potentially have eyes on a move for Brighton midfielder, Yves Bissouma.
Ralf Rangnick brings new ideas and beliefs to this Manchester United side, whose squad will have to adapt and adjust in multiple ways. One of those ways could be personnel-wise.
Simply put, some members of the current squad may not be the right fit for what Rangnick wants to achieve. Hence, they’ll have to depart and new faces brought in to replace them.
One (of the many) areas of concern is central midfield. United are light in that position, while the current crop of players all have inconsistency within their game. Enter, Yves Bissouma.
The Brighton & Hove Albion midfield maestro has been linked with an Old Trafford switch before. Now those rumours are being talked up again.
This time, the claim comes from Sam Wallace in The Telegraph. The story itself mainly talks up Aston Villa interest in Bissouma. However, the Reds get a mention.
Apparently, the 25-year-old is under transfer consideration by United. As things stand, Bissouma is away at AFCON with Mali – making it infinitely harder to push through a move this month.
The Telegraph reckon it’d take around £40million to get a deal for Bissouma done, though that value could drop as we approach the summer due to the midfielder only having eighteen months on his contract as things stand.
I’m a huge Bissouma fan. There aren’t many better in the Premier League at doing the job he does – and I say that with 100% conviction.
Whoever eventually prises Bissouma away from the South Coast will be getting one hell of a player. Though it looks like Villa are doing all they can to make that move happen during this window.
