Man United contacted by Juventus over Pogba availability amid possible return: report

Yesterday, we covered a story from Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, in which it was claimed that Juventus want to re-sign Paul Pogba.

This evening, that story has been backed up by the English media, namely The Guardian. In their article, they write that Juventus have contacted United and asked about the availability of the world-class 26-year-old – to see whether the Reds would be interested in selling Pogba this summer.

Apparently, the Turin side want to sign a world-class midfielder during the transfer window. First of all, Juve looked at Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, but were put off by Lazio’s €90m asking price.

The Guardian add that Pogba himself would be happy to re-join Juventus as he has a great relationship with their sporting director Fabio Paratici – who wants to know how much it’d cost to bring the World Cup winner back to the Serie A.

There is one major problem though, as Juve aren’t in a position to pay the £93.2m that it cost United to sign Pogba a couple of years ago…

Personally, I don’t see a scenario in which United would be prepared to lose money on Pogba. Edward Woodward loves him due to his marketability and whether you like it or not, the Old Trafford club feels more like a business than a football team at this point in time.
