Man United contract talks with starlet, Alejandro Garnacho, ‘are progressing’.
Manchester United Football Club handed a full debut to Alejandro Garnacho on Thursday night, with the young Argentine looking sharp against Sheriff.
The 18-year-old winger had no doubt been chomping at the bit for his opportunity, with Garnacho taking that opportunity with both hands – leaving Erik ten Hag impressed.
Well over the last 24 hours or so, the Manchester Evening News have provided the latest information on Garnacho – and it’s positive for fans of the attacker.
Apparently, United talks with the talented teen ‘are progressing, though from our point of view, nothing feels imminent.
It’s stated that Garnacho is currently tied down until 2025 – and not next year, which has been the claim in the media recently.
The Reds are ‘comfortable’ with the situation given the length of time left on Garnacho’s deal. Obviously, the Old Trafford club have time on their side here – though that can change quickly if they’re not careful.
Garnacho strikes me as someone who absolutely wants to be playing week-in-week-out at the highest level right now. If United cannot give him that, I don’t see any reason why he won’t start to look elsewhere.
The good news? Garnacho looked great against Sheriff. I fully expect the minutes will continue to come his way, assuming his ‘better attitude’ (directly from Ten Hag’s mouth) remains on full display.
As things stand, Garnacho just has to keep his head down, keep working hard in training and then prove to the world just how good he can be.
As this season progresses, I genuinely believe we’ll see more and more of Garnacho. He’s also being helped by the likes of Jadon Sancho, who continues to underperform.
