Man United ‘could hijack’ £15m deal to sing Serhou Guirassy

Man United could yet make a move to sign Guinea striker, Serhou Guirassy.

Although Rasmus Hojlund has started to find the net domestically over his last couple of Premier League games, there’s still a need to bring in some help for the Dane.

Anthony Martial is said to have been dealing with the flu for quite some time now, which leads me to believe that the Frenchman could well be leaving at some point this month…

In the event that a transfer away for Martial does happen, his minutes would simply have to be replaced. Enter, Serhou Guirassy.

The Old Trafford club have been pretty heavily linked with the Guinea striker over the last few months. It had all gone quiet on that front recently, but those stories are now hitting the back pages again.

It’s Football Insider with the claim, who, in their headline, state that United ‘could hijack’ a January move to sign the £15m striker.

Apparently, West Ham’s interest in the Stuttgart striker is well known, though United and AC Milan could look to sneak in and complete a deal

Guirassy has been in superb form for Stuttgart this season, though he’s currently away with Guinea at AFCON. Understandably, the Bundesliga side are fighting hard to keep ahold of the striker beyond this month, though it may be tough due to a release clause in his deal.

With a £15m fee all that’s required, it’s probably worth the gamble for United. I don’t think there’s a guarantee that Guirassy will prove to be a home-run signing for the Red Devils, particularly as this is his first season of note in a ten-year professional career so far.

Do you think a Man United move to sign Serhou Guirassy would make sense? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
