Man United could lose superstar in January, move now more likely: report

Manchester United could well lose Paul Pogba in January, with a move to FC Barcelona now looking more likely to be possible.

That’s according to The Independent, who say that the Catalan club have been eyeing a move for the Frenchman ‘for some time’, but after the fallout with Jose Mourinho, coupled with Pogba being stripped of the captaincy, a deal could now happen sooner than Barcelona themselves thought…

Watching United capitulate so dramatically is extremely uncharacteristic. They’re usually watertight when it comes to his sort of stuff. The fact that it is being played out so publicly is concerning.

It’s no longer about United. Right now, it’s a one-on-one battle between player and manager. No one individual is bigger than the club. The ego war that is currently taking place is embarrassing. If I had my way, both would be out the door tomorrow.

If FC Barcelona are willing to pay us the £89million that it cost us to sign him, then I’d snap their hand off right now. Pogba hasn’t been anywhere near good enough over the two-and-a-bit year period that he has been here. Consistency has hurt him, badly. We’ve seen glimpses, but the leadership, the quality, the performances, they just haven’t been there…
