All season, it has felt like the decision for Manchester United has been either James Maddison or Jack Grealish.
At the term’s start, the Leicester City man was the clear front-runner, though some impressive performance from Aston Villa’s star man definitely helped close the gap. Personally, I was warming to the idea of Grealish over Maddison.
However, that viewpoint may well have changed for Ole Gunnar Solsjaer and his Red Devils. You can understand why, too…
The story comes from the Daily Star, who states that United may well turn their attentions back to the classy 23-year-old Maddison, after Grealish has hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Now, here at Old Trafford Faithful, we’re not going to get into details about Grealish, but the Daily Star does state that United have been keen on Maddison for ‘quite some time’, with the attacking midfielder having scored nine goals and assisting three more this term.
Maddison is a lifelong United fan which also plays into our hands. Perhaps the Englishman will do his bit to force through the move, as we all know how good Leicester City are when it comes to negotiations.
I just can’t fathom Grealish’s mistake. Sure, he’s admitted it in a heartfelt video, but that’s the sort of incident that manager’s don’t like to see happening. Quite frankly, he could’ve just cost himself a big-money move to United this summer…
