Man United could look to use Spurs interest in Dean Henderson in any potential move to sign Harry Kane…

Manchester United are certainly in the market to sign a top-class attacker this summer. That much is obvious. Harry Kane’s name has often been mentioned, though negotiating with Tottenham Hotspur and Daniel Levy is notoriously difficult.

The Reds’ task may have potentially become a little easier, due to Spurs’ interest in the 26-year-old shot-stopper, Dean Henderson.

The Englishman is currently plying his trade for Nottingham Forest on loan, before which, Hendo launched a scathing attack on United’s treatment of him – leaving his future at Old Trafford unclear.

According to ESPN, Spurs are keen on signing Henderson this summer, with the player set for United talks about his future.

The report claims that Spurs interest in Henderson ‘could encourage’ Levy to be more open to talks in regards to Kane.

There’s no doubt that any deal for the Englishman will end up being supremely expensive. This is arguably the best striker in the world when on form, while he’s in his peak years age-wise.

My issue with a Kane move at this point is to do with the fact he isn’t getting any younger. How many elite years does Kane have left? Two? Three? Are the Reds okay with spending £100m+ on a player like that? Who they’d have to replace sooner than they’d like anyway?

It also comes down to whether Kane wants to leave Spurs. That’s by no means a guarantee, particularly at this stage in his career, when he could easily go down as a real one-club man and a Spurs legend.
