Man United’s summer is going from bad to worse, with Benjamin Sesko now heading elsewhere…
Erik ten Hag has been delivered three new players at Manchester United thus far. I feel pretty confident in stating that the Dutch manager probably would have expected more.
There are still gaping holes all over this squad. They don’t look like being filled with genuine quality anytime soon. Unfortunately, the old-age problems that the Red Devils have had under Glazer ownership are rearing their ugly head again.
A name recently linked with an Old Trafford switch is Benjamin Sesko. The Slovenian striker is viewed by United as someone who’d make a good signing. Sadly, though, this deal will not happen…
It’s Fabrizio Romano who deals the transfer blow to United. He states that another club, RB Leipzig, are ‘closing on’ the signing instead.
According to Romano, the other Red Bull side are set to lure Sesko away from RB Salzburg. However, the transfer will not take place until 2023, with the player to remain in Austria for one more season before heading to Germany.
The deal could be confirmed and official as early as this week.
Honestly, this is just a further kick in the teeth for United. Not only are they failing to secure their top targets, they’re also struggling when it comes to attracting younger players to Old Trafford. Typically, this is an area in which the Reds have consistently thrived over the years. Not anymore…
Sesko sees that a move to Leipzig is better for him than United. Oh, how the mighty have fallen…
All the positive intent that the powers-that-be went into this window with has already gone up in smoke. The Glazer regime has been a nightmare. A slow rot. A problem that’s tearing the whole club apart from the inside out. This failing deal for Sesko is just another example of that.
