Man United dealt transfer blow, Juventus set to win Erling Haaland race: report

Manchester United Football Club took the decision to move away from both Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez over the summer, leaving the Red Devils looking thin on the ground up top.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may well be looking to right those wrongs, with Erling Haaland seemingly on the radar. In a story we covered just yesterday from The Sun, it is being claimed United will offer the prolific striker a huge £200k-a-week contract.

However, the Italian media believe otherwise, namely Tuttosport, translated by The Metro. This morning, they’re dealing a transfer blow to United, as they claim that Juventus are set to win the race to sign the mega-talented 19-year-old.

Apparently, the Old Lady have utilised their strong relationship with superagent Mino Raiola, in a deal that would see Haaland move to the Serie A champions.

By contrast, United haven’t always seen eye-to-eye with Raiola, with some of his clients, including Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic passing through the Theatre of Dreams over years gone by.

I like Haaland, I think he’d be ideal for what Solskjaer is trying to achieve. He won’t come cheap, mind, and United don’t have the pull of Champions League football on the table which makes our job harder. They do have the money to compete with anyone, though, so it’ll be intriguing to see how this one plays out.
