Machester United Football Club are currently on a two-week hiatus due to the international break – and it couldn’t have started any worse for the Red Devils. Our in-form centre-half, Phil Jones, has withdrawn from the Three Lions squad, according to Sky Sports News.
Jones didn’t head to Russia to play for Manchester United as they took on CSKA Moscow, but managed to get himself back out on the field against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Then, ESPN claimed that he was an injury doubt for England, which now makes sense given the fact that he has been pulled out of the squad completely.

I’m just praying that this isn’t anything too serious. Obviously, he managed to play through it against Palace, but I’m glad that Gareth Southgate has allowed him to leave.
This gives Jones almost a fortnight to try and get himself back to as close to 100% as possible before a huge game against Liverpool at Anfield.
The problem has always been injuries with Jones, and up until this point in the season, he had got through things unscathed. If this is anything serious, we know from history that this could lead to bigger issues, so it’s best to approach this one with caution.
