Manchester United have priced David de Gea at a huge £115million, according to Spanish media outlet Sport, translated by The Sun.
The Old Trafford shot-stopper almost made the move to Real Madrid two years ago now, but for a dodgy fax machine saving United from losing their three-time Player of the Year on transfer deadline day.
With Florentino Perez refusing to give up on signing the 27-year-old, it seems as though the Red Devils have named their price; and £115million seems extremely steep.
Apparently, De Gea is going to demand a huge £375,000-a-week to remain at the Theatre of Dreams, and you honestly wouldn’t begrudge him when it comes to a new long-term deal. He’s been our most influential player post-Sir Alex Ferguson, and if he doesn’t deserve it then nobody does.
A player of his calibre doesn’t come around too often. He’s special, hence why Madrid simply won’t give up in their pursuit of De Gea. We’re lucky to have him and if we can tie him down to one more big-money contract, it’ll guarantee that he’ll spend the best years of his career at Manchester United.
