Man United duo named in BBC Team of the Week following 5-2 win over Bournemouth

Manchester United Football Club have been pretty emphatic since lockdown ended, with the Red Devils piling the pressure on both Chelsea and Leicester City above them.

Their latest victims was an out-of-form Bournemouth side who are fighting relation. Despite an early scare, the 20-time Premier League champions would win 5-2.

There were four or five supreme individual performances from the lads in Red, though there was only space for two in Garth Crooks’ latest BBC TOTW

Yes, as expected, Bruno Fernandes is in the team. The Portuguese scored a pretty brilliant free-kick to all-but end Bournemouth’s hopes. He also picked up two assists, as his rise to prominence continues.

The second Red Devil included was Mason Greenwood. The 18-year-old star scored two absolute corkers, one with either foot, to let the world know just how insanely gifted he is.

Personally, I reckon an argument can be made for Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial to get in this team, too, though I do understand why the likes of Jamie Vardy and Declan Rice were included by Garth.

I guess now it’s about keeping the pressure on the sides above us. If we win all our games from here on out, we’ll leapfrog Leicester and steal that fourth slot.

At this point, it’s looking like it’ll come down to the showdown between the two sides on the season’s final day. Us United fans have to feel confident – even despite the fact the game is away from home…
