Bruno Fernandes and Luke Shaw have been named in WhoScored’s February Team of the Month.
For Manchester United, the last few weeks have probably ruled us out of the title race. Right now, it’s looking like there’s only one team in the running and sadly, it isn’t us.
Let’s be honest, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side probably wasn’t expected to contend for the top prize this season anyway, but that doesn’t take away from the sheer disappointment.
Our Red Devils still had some standout performers, though. This is a squad full of individual brilliance as opposed to a tight-knit team unit – and there are no prizes from guessing which pair were named in WhoScored’s February Team of the Month.
Check out WhoScored’s February Team of the Month in full here:
First up, we have Luke Shaw, who has been by far and away the best left-back in the division over the last few weeks.
Pace, desire, assists and defensive diligence. The United left-back is now turning into the player we all thought we signed back in 2014, when the Englishman would make the move to Old Trafford from Southampton.
Shaw’s 7.52 rating actually places him as the best defender in this team, which is a massive credit to his hard work and dedication to get back to those super-high levels.
As expected, Bruno Fernandes is always in these teams nowadays. His 7.91 rating throughout February is actually only bettered by Raheem Sterling. The scary part is our Portuguese Magnifico actually had an extremely hit-and-miss month!
At this point, Bruno is by far and away the best player in the country. It’s an absolute privilege to call him one of our own. Now, it’s down to United to put better pieces around him as we look to challenge for major honours year-in-year-out.
