Man United duo ruled out of Brentford away game with injury

Man United will have to take on Brentford without both Anthony Martial and Victor Lindelof.

Erik ten Hag will be hoping his Manchester United side can bounce back in the best way possible this weekend.

Last time out, United were extremely disappointing against Brighton & Hove Albion, with the Reds looking to right those wrongs.

Well, the Old Trafford club will have to do it without a couple of players.

Ten Hag confirmed the blow during his press conference, with the important duo of Anthony Martial and Victor Lindelof out of the Brentford match with injury.

Obviously, Martial has been out of action for a fortnight now with an ongoing hamstring problem. The Frenchman was always trending in the direction of missing this one as he wasn’t spotted in training.

Lindelof’s problem is a little under wraps. We’re not really sure what’s going on with the Ice Man, though United are somewhat well-stocked at centre-back so this one is less of a problem.

Ten Hag also remained tight-lipped on whether Cristiano Ronaldo would actually start this one. I’m assuming that the Portgual international will lead the line here, following a full week of training coupled with the fact that he did play in a behind-closed-doors match on Tuesday.

As things stand, it looks very likely that Ronaldo will remain with United for another year, so the sooner we can get the 37-year-old integrated back into the squad and feeling good about his football, the better it’ll be.

Back on the injury front for a second and let’s hope Martial and Lindelof are back in training at some point early next week. We’re going to need them for the Liverpool game during Monday Night Football in a little over one weeks’ time.
