Man United are set to welcome back a couple of players from injury, for the game vs FC Barcelona.

Manchester United could have, and probably should have, beaten FC Barcelona at the Camp Nou last week, though the Red Devils were made to settle for a 2-2 draw.

The second leg is swiftly upon us, with the Old Trafford club looking to progress into the next round of the Europa League. Make no mistake about it, this will not be an easy fixture.

Ahead of the game, United have received a double injury boost, with Erik ten Hag expecting a couple of players to be available following their respective injury issues.

Both Harry Maguire and Antony are back in training and the gaffer believes they’ll be ready to go. However, Anthony Martial is not quite ready, despite his return to individual training.

Check out what the gaffer had to say in full here:

“There’s still a training session to go but I expect Harry Maguire and Antony dos Santos [to be] available,” the manager told the media, including “Anthony Martial is not available.

“He’s back on the pitch but not in the team training, so we’ll wait for that. What [will] we do differently? You will see tomorrow, on the pitch. We have an idea of course, but of course we can’t tell [you] that now.”

Obviously, this is good news! Although Antony has often blown hot and cold, United play better football with him in the team. The chances of the Brazilian starting this match are probably pretty slim, given the lack of minutes he’s had of late.

As for Maguire, he should be good to start if called upon, though I suspect it’s more likely he’ll be amongst the substitutes. Ten Hag has shown a preference of starting both Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane in the big spots and I expect that trend to continue here.

More than anything, this just gives United some added depth in some key areas, during an important part of the season. Football is now more of a squad game than ever before, with 20+ players needed to compete on all fronts.

Hopefully, United get Martial back to fitness soon too, and the Reds can continue to push in the four competitions they’re currently in.
