Manchester United Football Club have consistently been linked with a move for Aston Villa attacker Jack Grealish over the last few months, with those rumours set to ramp up as we approach the summer transfer window.
In the early hours of this morning, the Daily Express provided an interesting update on the future of the Englishman.
They’re claiming that the star 24-year-old is a ‘step nearer’ to making a United switch this summer, after buying a house in the North-West.
Apparently, he told friends he’s found a house here, as United ‘edge closer’ to signing Grealish.
According to the report, Grealish is top of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s wishlist, with the Baby Faced Assassin wanting the Englishman to link up with Bruno Fernandes (and presumably Paul Pogba) at the heart of the Red Devils’ attack.
Grealish does fit the player-profile that United have tended to move towards under Solskjaer. Young, preferably British and hungry to improve.
With Aston Villa staring relegation in the face, United could potentially land themselves a top-quality player at a somewhat reduced fee, while Grealish has that swagger and arrogance which is needed to go right to the very top.
Hopefully, United can get this deal done. It adds depth in an area which is suddenly looking pretty strong for the Red Devils, though now more than ever, football is a squad game. Solskjaer needs to press on with making more high-quality signings if United are to make it 21 in the 2020/21 campaign…
