Man United enter race to sign 25-year-old midfielder, sent scouts to watch him: report

Manchester United have entered the race to sign Watford star, Abdoulaye Doucoure, according to the Daily Mirror, per the Daily Mail.

Apparently, the Red Devils have joined both Arsenal and Liverpool in pursuit of the 25-year-old who is making a real name for himself under Javi Garcia.

The report also states that Manchester United had scouts presents to watch Doucoure as Watford beat West Brom 1-0 over the weekend.

Hailing from France, Doucoure would be the ideal midfielder for Jose Mourinho’s midfield. The Old Trafford club needs that physical, yet energetic presence in the middle to free up Paul Pogba. What’s even better is the fact that he already has Premier League experience, and he should be able to slot into our side seamlessly.

With Michael Carrick retiring and Marouane Fellaini still to commit, United will probably need at least one new top-level midfielder, but don’t be surprised to see two come in.

A complete overhaul in that area, as well as the defence, is almost a certainty if Mourinho holds any serious aspirations of winning multiple Premier League titles as Manchester United gaffer. However, I’m sure Watford will want an arm and a leg to let arguably their best player leave Vicarage Road.
