Man United enter race to sign insanely good 22-year-old midfielder: report

Manchester United Football Club have emerged as shock targets to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita. That’s according to Football Whispers, as per the Daily Express.

The 22-year-old is apparently being targeted by Liverpool, and you have to admit, it’d be great to steal his signature from under their noses.

The man from Guinea emerged as one of Leipzig’s standout performers last term, and he was one of the main reasons as to why their fans have Champions League football to look forward to next season.

Jose Mourinho’s interest in bringing in a defensive-minded midfielder has been well documented, with Eric Dier the latest man to be linked. However, as we all know, Tottenham Hotspur are usually tough to negotiate with and you’d imagine it’ll be no different this summer.

Keita is built in a similar kind of mould to the aforementioned Englishman, but he’s far more athletic and I’d say that he has a massive amount of talent. The Leipzig midfielder doesn’t shirk a tackle, he’s good on the ball and he’d bring a lot of dynamism to this Manchester United team.

He wouldn’t be cheap, however, and with reports suggesting that Liverpool have had a £57million bid rejected, Edward Woodward would have to up that offer – and probably quite considerably.
