Man United enter race to sign £12million winger, player keen on move: report

Manchester United Football Club is considering making a move for Stoke City winger, Xherdan Shaqiri.

That’s according to The Sun, who adds that the Swissman is available for as little as £12million, with the player indicating he’s keen on the move.

Liverpool are also keen on signing the 26-year-old, with Jose Mourinho impressed by his performances at the World Cup, and told friends that he would be interested in bringing the right-winger to Old Trafford.

His ability to cut in onto his preferred left-foot is Shaqiri’s best trait, and no doubt he’d bring fresh ideas to an area of the field where United have been struggling recently.

Sure, he’s probably not a player who’d start every week, but his low price-tag makes him worth the gamble as a rotational player.

With only competition from Juan Mata, who’s a completely different player, Shaqiri would certainly get his fair share of minutes, and what a move this would be for him on a personal level – considering he was playing for the worst team in the Premier League last term.

I guess the only gamble is the fact that he’s an inconsistent player. At times, he will go completely missing, while frustrating both the fans and the manager. Is he worth the risk? I think so.
