Man United believe Jadon Sancho will leave the club this summer, regardless of what happens with Erik ten Hag.
Manchester United Football Club are still trying to return to the pinnacle of the Premier League. With INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe now in charge, the Red Devils will be feeling more confident about their future.
Among the big issues to sort out this coming summer is the future of Jadon Sancho. The Englishman, who was involved in a very public spat with Erik ten Hag, is enjoying life at Borussia Dortmund right now. He’s only on loan at the Bundesliga club – at least for the time being.
As a result of a decent performance in the Champions League, there were whispers on social media claiming that there may well be a way back into the United side for Sancho.
However, ESPN have quashed those rumours, claiming that United ‘expect’ the 24-year-old to leave the club this summer, regardless of whether Ten Hag remains manager or not.
Ten Hag’s future is in doubt after some mediocre performances this season, though United will not make a decision on the Dutchman until after the FA Cup final against Manchester City in a few weeks time.
Sancho, however, will be out of the exit door. Dortmund would like to sign him permanently, though they will struggle to meet his wage demands, while they cannot afford to pay any sort of significant transfer fee to United, either.
As a result, another loan spell away from Old Trafford is a real possibility for Sancho next season, though United would prefer a permanent exit sooner rather than later.
Sancho still has a couple of years left on his contract, so moving him on permanently may be pretty tough given his high wages. Again, this is a problem made solely by the Glazer family, who have consistently overpaid for players over the years.
