Man United expect to see improved offer for Aaron Wan-Bissaka accepted

Manchester United’s interest in Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka is seemingly picking up the pace.

We covered a story from The Sun which claimed that the Reds were ready to go back in with an improved offer of £50million.

Now, in an article from the Evening Standard, it is being claimed that United ‘expect’ said £50million bid to be accepted by The Eagles – making Wan-Bissaka the most expensive defender in their history.

Apparently, their initial bid for Wan-Bissaka was around the £35million mark, potentially rising to £40million after add-ons. That was immediately rejected – but United aren’t messing around by going back in straight away with a significantly higher offer.

Following a deal for Wan-Bissaka, the Evening Standard also state that United could ‘press ahead’ with a move for Harry Maguire as the club reckon Matthijs de Ligt is Barca-bound – taking him off the table.

I like where United are going here. Daniel James is young and hungry, as is Wan-Bissaka. The Palace man was exceptional during his 2018/19 breakthrough campaign and the Reds are desperate for a new right-back.

Personally, I don’t see it as a risk because anything is better than what Ashley Young has offered us this season. Wan-Bissaka will be first-choice right-back as soon as he walks through the door – and let’s hope the Reds can push a deal through quickly so they can move on to other transfer targets.
