Man United’s move to sign Jadon Sancho is now closer than ever.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been chasing Jadon Sancho for the last couple of transfer windows. Now, the Baby Faced Assassin looks to have finally landed his man.
Manchester United are ‘expected’ to formally agree a deal to sign the star this week. That’s according to The Telegraph, as the Reds close in on a major addition in a deal that could be worth at least £77.4m.
Sancho, who is currently away with England, looks set to become United’s first marquee deal of a massive summer transfer window.
In terms of the Englishman’s contract at Old Trafford, Sancho is set to fetch home around £250,000-a-week with bonuses, which is obviously an eye-watering amount of money.
The Borussia Dortmund superstar will add another dimension to an already talented attack. Sancho’s goals, assists and directness will make United an even bigger threat, while his pace on the counter-attack is also worth noting.
Again, I’d expect a formal announcement may have to wait, particularly with Sancho still away at the European Championships with England. Although it has been disappointing not to see him playing under Gareth Southgate, he’s resting up meaning he’ll hopefully be good to go at the start of the 2021/22 season.
Now, it’s down to the two clubs to work out the finer details of the transfer and get everything signed, sealed and delivered as soon as possible.
Without wanting to jynx it, you do get the feeling this transfer will happen pretty quickly and Sancho will be running out in front of a packed Old Trafford within the next couple of months. I don’t know about you, but that’s pretty exciting!
