Man United ‘expecting’ Ralf Rangnick in dugout for Crystal Palace game: report

Man United believe their new manager could be in charge this coming Sunday…

Ralf Rangnick has been confirmed as Manchester United’s interim manager, though the German is still yet to take charge of his first session due to work permit issues.

On Thursday against Arsenal, Michael Carrick will remain in the dugout due to the delay, with the Englishman set to take charge of his third game as Red Devils interim boss.

Now, United have their sights set on Rangnick’s potential first game as boss; Crystal Palace at home.

The story comes from the Manchester Evening News, who state in their title that United are ‘confident’ he’ll be in charge for that Premier League fixture this coming Sunday.

What’s interesting here is that this game isn’t actually on live TV here in the United Kingdom, so just like Cristiano Ronaldo’s first game, there’s a genuine possibility that the masses in this country won’t actually be able to see this live!

Anyway I digress, Rangnick is actually expected to be in the stadium for the game against the Gunners tomorrow evening. No doubt he’ll get a warm welcome from the fans as he starts this new venture.

It goes without saying, the sooner Rangnick can work with these players, the better. This is a top-class coach we’re talking about here, who’ll bring fresh ideas and tactics to the table. I love the fact that he has a clear way of playing, which can only benefit us in the long term.

I just hope he’s allowed to bring in at least a few of his own staff members. Obviously, the ones currently at United haven’t been doing the business over the last few years, so there’s absolutely zero point in putting our faith in those guys at this moment in time.

What’s a realistic achievement for Ralf Rangnick this season? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
