Erik ten Hag seemed positive about getting a couple of players back from injury for the game vs Liverpool tomorrow…
For Manchester United, the games are coming thick and fast right now. The Old Trafford club are being allowed to play matches without really having to overthink things in training etc.
It has certainly helped United so far, with the Red Devils pumping out the good results across multiple competitions at this moment in time.
Sadly, a couple of first-team regulars missed the midweek game against West Ham with problems. Both Luke Shaw and Jadon Sancho were absent for that one – though those problems didn’t feel like serious ones.
Fast-forward a few days and Ten Hag delivered a positive team news update on the pair yesterday, admitting that we will ‘have players back’ for this one.
“I think we will have players back,” Erik told the media, including ManUtd.com. “Yesterday Luke Shaw was not available, so we expect him back.
“Sancho was ill, but we will have to wait and see how that develops but I think [he could be available] as well.”
Thankfully, it doesn’t look like these issues were serious and both Sancho and Shaw will be back in the squad this weekend.
Shaw, in particular, is going to be needed. He’s performing at a super high level right now and we’re going to need our strongest line-up if we’re to get any sort of positive result at Anfield.
Sancho is an interesting one. I can envisage him starting this game in that number ten position as United look to gain control of this match by dominating possession. He’s also an incredible player to bring off the bench if Ten Hag chooses to go down that route.
