Man United are looking at activating the release clause of Napoli centre-back, Kim Min-Jae.
Manchester United Football Club could well be in the market for a new centre-half this summer, particularly if the rumours swirling around Harry Maguire’s future turn out to be true.
In our opinion, it seems clear that the Red Devils and Erik ten Hag want to move away from the Englishman, who cost the club £80m a few years ago.
Several names have been linked with a potential Old Trafford switch this summer. Amongst them is Napoli’s Kim Min-Jae.
The man from South Korea is playing at an incredibly-high level right now, with Europe beginning to take note.
According to the Daily Mail, United are amongst the sides who have ‘expressed an interest’ in meeting the release clause of the 26-year-old. That fee currently stands at £40m.
On top of that, both Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are in the hunt to sign the Napoli man.
It’s stated that if Kim was to leave Naples, he’d prefer a switch to the Premier League. That’s understandable, given the lucrative nature of England’s top flight.
Kim is no doubt being eyed as someone who can replace Raphael Varane in the long run. Right now, the Frenchman doesn’t start every single game for the club. Kim, in contrast, has missed just one game for club and country all season.
In our opinion, prising him away from Napoli could be the tough part of this deal. They’re playing at an incredible level right now, are sure to win Serie A and they’ll be in the Champions League at the business end of the tournament, too.
