Man United eye move for Arsenal’s Buyako Saka: report

Manchester United and youth has always walked hand-in-hand. The Red Devils are amongst the world-leaders at giving minutes to young up-and-comers, it’s what makes them the great club that they are today.

Prising that talent away from their rivals is an excellent way at continuing that mantra. It’s a possibility that United are looking to do that again, too…

The story comes from a couple of different sources, namely The Express on Sunday and the Daily Mirror, both document reported interest in Arsenal starlet, Bukayo Saka.

It’s claimed that United are ‘keen’ on signing the winger, with the Red Devils amongst the sides ‘looking at’ the young Englishman. Understandably, Saka’s current club, Arsenal, are said to be ‘desperate’ to keep ahold of the starlet.

Saka is enjoying a breakthrough season at Arsenal, with his current £7,000-a-week deal expiring in 2021. That leaves the winger with a decision to make on his future.

I get the impression that Borussia Dortmund (who else!?) are the frontrunners for his signature, though United are also keen. In terms of player development, it looks as though Saka is going to have his pick of the bunch (should he decide not to renew with The Gunners).

I’ve watched Saka play a fair bit this season and he definitely excites. Although somewhat raw, there’s huge potential there. No doubt he’d improve this United squad should he make the move, though I’d imagine the last thing Arsenal would want is to see their young prodigy move to another Premier League side…
