Man United eye move for German midfielder, player seriously interested in move: report

We’re at that point in the season where transfer rumours are coming thick and fast. The latest story is a huge one.

Manchester United are interested in signing Toni Kroos this summer, with the German ‘seriously interested’ in the move. That’s according to Spanish publication Don Balon, translated by the Daily Express.

Jose Mourinho will need at least one new central midfielder. Michael Carrick has retired, and his boots are rather large to fill. We’re also none the wiser in regards to whether Marouane Fellaini will remain a Red Devil.

Signing a world-class player like Kroos would be a massive statement. This is a player in his prime, plying his trade for an elite Real Madrid side. We all know Mourinho loves to sign experienced players, and at 28, the German international is the perfect age.

Kroos isn’t the quickest, but I’ve rarely seen a better passer of the football.  He’s a player that remains calm under pressure, while always coming up trumps in the big situations. If Edward Woodward could somehow lure him to Old Trafford, he’d receive endless praise; and rightly so.

The move would certainly make sense, fitting in line with stories suggesting that United’s interest in Jorginho had cooled.
