Man United eye moves Boubakary Soumare & Moussa Dembele: report

We’re now just over a couple of months away from the January transfer window opening. Although a notoriously difficult time to buy, Manchester United’s hand has been forced.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad needs reinforcements, though I don’t think the sort of quality the Baby Faced Assassin will be looking at are going to be available in the mid-season window.

Anyway today, a new name was thrown into the ring. The story comes from ESPN, who state that United are eyeing moves for a French duo… The first name is one we’re familiar with; Moussa Dembele.

The 23-year-old striker has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for a fair while now and those rumours don’t seem to be letting up.

On the other hand, the second player is something fresh; Boubakary Soumare, with the 20-year-old viewed as a potential heir to Paul Pogba.

Soumare, like Dembele, currently plies his trade in Ligue 1. The midfielder, who stands at 6’2, is impressing after being let go by Paris Saint-Germain in 2017. Understandably, United aren’t looking to replace Pogba if they can help it, with the 26-year-old having three years left on his deal.

The intriguing thing about Soumare is that his contract expires next summer. United could speak to him from January onwards about the possibility of signing a pre-deal for a move next summer. Failing that, if the Reds wanted him earlier, Lille rate him at around £30-35million.
