Manchester United are interested in bolstering their attacking options, with Ligue 1 sensation Malcolm being eyed for a potential January move. That’s according to The Times, per The Mirror.
The Brazilian attacker is just twenty-years-old, and is making some huge contributions for Bordeaux at this point in time, scoring seven goals and assisting four in all competitions.
Apparently, Jose Mourinho has a huge January budget of around £80million, meaning that if the right player comes up, the Portuguese boss will be able to spend that money.
Bringing in Malcolm would be an excellent piece of business because he’s capable of playing on the right-wing; something we’ve been lacking in.
We do have both Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial who are obviously fantastic players, but the pair have a tendency to play much better when they start on the left-hand side.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan was United’s go-to option at the start of the season, but his poor form has seen him dropped from the squad completely, so there is certainly an opening for a new player to be signed.
As always, though, January is a tough time to buy and Bordeaux would prefer to keep hold of their star man, meaning United may well have to pay that bit extra if Mourinho is desperate to bring Malcolm in.
