Man United are weighing up a January move to sign Mehdi Taremi, as they look to ease the burden on Rasmus Hojlund.
Over the summer, mega money was spent to bring in Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta. The forward is proving his worth, looking like a real target man who can hold the ball up, while also possessing the pace to run in behind and hurt defences that way.
Although he’s yet to score in the Premier League, he’s looked lethal in Europe. Whether that’s benefitting from the open games we’ve had in the Champions League, or just a confidence thing, that remains to be seen.
Anthony Martial is struggling, leaving the burden largely on Hojlund’s shoulders. That’s something Erik ten Hag is keen to address.
It’s Inter Live report with the information, as Sport Witness provides the translation. They believe the Reds could move for experienced striker, Mehdi Taremi, in the mid-season window.
The website explains that United are among the sides eyeing a January move to sign the 31-year-old forward, with Inter also showing interest in the man from Iran.
It’s stated that the Reds are looking to ‘lighten the load of responsibility’ on Hojlund, by bringing in a veteran forward.
Inter Live Report add that United could offer £8.7m (€10m), as well as a annual salary of around £4m to the player, in order to get the deal done. Whether Taremi’s current club, Porto, would be keen on parting with one of their main players is another question entirely.
A three-year contract would be on the table from United, which is something that Inter would not stretch to, leaving the ball in the Reds’ court as things stand.
