Manchester United have had a clear plan in mind under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. They’re getting younger at practically every position, while clearing out the old guard.
The Baby Faced Assassin has done a stellar job thus far, while his work in the transfer market has been practically flawless. With that in mind, we have to continue to give the Norweigan our backing.
Today, another young up-and-comer is being linked with a potential Old Trafford move. The story comes from the Daily Mail, who state that United are ‘eyeing’ a move for the 18-year-old winger, Facundo Pellistri.
Valued at £10million by current club Penarol, Pellistri, known as ‘Facu’, is drawing approaches from some of the world’s best. Real Madrid, Atletico, Napoli, Boca Juniors have all been linked. However, both Manchester and Newcastle United are now leading the charge.
What’s interesting about Facu is that he’s currently learning his trade from former United striker, Diego Forlan back in their hometown of Uruguay.
Aged 18, with a relatively low valuation, it definitely feels as though this is worth the risk. Yes, there’s no guarantees Facu will be a world-class footballer, but time is definitely on his side and he’d have every chance at fulfilling his potential if he moved to the Theatre of Dreams…
