Man United eyeing move free-transfer move for second Portugese signing this summer: report

Manchester United Football Club are eyeing a move for their second Portuguese signing of the summer, following the completion of a deal for Diogo Dalot.

The man being linked with an Old Trafford move is William Carvalho. According to Record, translated by The Sun, United, along with Arsenal and West Ham, are keen on signing the 26-year-old during the summer.

Arguably the best thing about any move would be that Carvalho wouldn’t cost a single penny. He terminated his contract with the Primeira Liga side following a training ground incident with fans – he’s not alone in that regard, with no fewer than three of his teammates doing similar.

With Marouane Fellaini still to sign a new deal at the club, Jose Mourinho simply must be looking at other options. Personally, I’d be surprised if his countryman Carvalho isn’t on that list.

He’s at a great age, yet still improving all the time. Carvalho is tough in the tackle, a real presence in the middle and he’s also quick which is essential in the modern-day game. If United made their move for him, I’d be surprised if he didn’t choose Manchester Red over any of the other sides linked.
