Man United are looking at possibly moving for Celta Vigo midfielder, Gabri Veiga.
Manchester United Football Club lifted their first trophy of the Erik ten Hag era this weekend, with the Carabao Cup coming back to Old Trafford.
However, this is just the start for this Red Devils team, who continue to adapt and grow under their new manager.
The Dutch boss is already focusing on the future, with a huge summer transfer window ahead – whoever the owners of the club are at that point…
Money will have to be spent in order to continue to overhaul the playing squad, with several names linked.
The latest story comes from AS (h/t BBC gossip column). They say that United are looking at a move for Celta Vigo’s Gabri Veiga.
Apparently, the Reds are eyeing up a potential move to sign the emerging 20-year-old midfielder, who would cost a reported £26million.
Veiga has been a regular for Celta Vigo this term, after breaking into the side last season. Now, several of Europe’s big boys are beginning to take note of his performances – including the Old Trafford club.
Midfield has been an intriguing spot on the field for United over the last few years. The club have often struggled in that area, though a couple of Ten Hag signings seems to have turned our fortunes around in the central area.
Further work still has to be done, as in all likelihood, Scott McTominay could well be sold, whereas both Casemiro and Christian Eriksen are not young players.
Bringing in someone like Veiga at this point makes sense. He can dip in and out of the team, with a long-term view of him becoming the regular starter in a few years’ time.
