Man United ‘eyeing transfer raid’ for Derby’s talented Cruz Allen

Man United are looking to make their play in an effort to sign Derby County’s Cruz Allen.

Manchester United have always had a knack when it comes to signing young players and developing their talents. Why should they move away from that mantra when it works? Just look at Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho right now.

I’ve often said that big-money signings haven’t worked at Old Trafford. Erik ten Hag should continue with the DNA and ideologies that are embedded deep within this club. It’s why this latest transfer rumour from The Sun makes sense.

They believe Man United are looking at making a move to sign Derby County’s Cruz Allen.

In their headline, The Sun claim United are ‘eyeing (a) transfer raid’ to sign the midfield ‘wonderkid’. They will face competition from Newcastle and Chelsea to acquire the 16-year-old.

It’s stated that Derby are ‘braced’ for offers, for the man who has been tearing it up at U18 level.

The Wales youth international is seeing his stock rising, while Derby will be looking for a bidding war to ensue, in order to receive maximum value for letting such an outstanding prospect leave.

As we’ve reiterated before, United have done well when signing young players. They’ve had far more success going down this route over the years, than any marquee signing in their history.

Is Allen going to fulfil potential? I’m not sure, but the best place for him to hone his talents and develop is at the Theatre of Dreams.

Do you think a Man United move to sign Cruz Allen would fall in line with what the Reds are good at? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
