Manchester United are facing a fight to keep hold of goalkeeper Dean Henderson, The Sun writes, as per the Daily Express. Arsenal are interested in signing him on a free transfer.
Henderson, 20, has less than a year remaining on his current contract at the Theatre of Dreams, and he is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Red Devils.
Currently, he’s out on loan with League One side Shrewsbury Town where he’s impressing, keeping five clean sheets as his short-term side are sitting at the top of the table.
Undoubtedly this is a brilliant experience for him, but you’d imagine he is setting his sights higher than League One Football.
At Manchester United, it’s not going to be easy for Henderson. Of course, he’ll have David de Gea, Sergio Romero and Joel Pereira in front of him, and breaking into the third-choice spot is a real ask; nevermind winning the #1 jersey.
We’re currently stacked at the goalkeeper slot and eventually, I’m of the opinion that he’ll move on for that reason. Henderson isn’t going to want to sit in behind these guys and wait for an opportunity that’ll never come.
