Man United fans have taken to social media in their droves recently, begging the Red Devils to make an Erling Haaland transfer move.

Old Trafford has played host to some of the game’s true greats. From George Best to Cristiano Ronaldo, with the whole Class of 92 sprinkled in between, Manchester United have always delivered.

Despite trophies coming at a premium recently, United still have some of the best individual footballers on the planet in the form of Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba. However, further work is still required if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s ‘tricky reds’ are to win Premier League titles once again.

With Edinson Cavani’s future now far from certain and Anthony Martial displaying hit-and-miss form, there is a strong case to be made that a new striker may well be the biggest need going into the summer.

Enter, Erling Haaland. The Borussia Dortmund superstar almost signed for United as he left RB Salzburg but in the end, he’d choose the Bundesliga.

Now, after just a year in Germany, there’s already talk about an exit for Haaland when a release clause kicks in, likely to be in the summer of 2022.

It goes without saying that interest in Haaland, and his price-tag, is only heading in one direction. Signing him when that release clause comes into effect is going to be supremely difficult, but United have to get themselves in the mix.

After another two-goal performance last night, netting his 20th (!) Champions League goal, becoming the youngest player to do so, Haaland’s stock continued to rise.

As you’d imagine, United fans would take to Twitter by the masses, expressing their desperation and desire, almost begging the Old Trafford club to make their move for the 20-year-old emerging superstar. What a statement of intent this move would be. Though I’ll admit, I still have my doubts about how viable a move would be for Haaland…
