Man United fans are delighted with the appointment of Ralf Rangnick as interim manager.
Well, the deal is all-but-confirmed with Ralf Rangnick set to become Manchester United’s interim manager.
Out of all the options available, this felt like the best one. The German has a clear style and ideology. Finally, United will have some structure from the man at the helm.
What I liked best about this news is the fact that United were keeping Rangnick on after his six-month contract as manager. They’ve reportedly offered the 63-year-old a two-year contract in some form of consultancy role, which feels like an astute move.
He’s a proper football man who lives and breathes this sport, though some members of that dressing room better up their game or they’ll find themselves out the door before long as Rangnick doesn’t take any rubbish.
I just genuinely cannot wait for Rangnick to get started. He’ll inherit a squad jam-packed with talent and quality, which is easy to forget given how poor we’ve played recently. I’m intrigued to see how quickly the German can work his magic with these guys – and maybe try and salvage this season by guiding us to a trophy.
Sadly, we’ll have to wait a little longer to see him in the dugout as it doesn’t look like Rangnick will be available to manage Chelsea on Sunday, but for now, let’s enjoy the hire.
As you’d imagine, the United fans were delighted with the latest managerial news coming out of Old Trafford. Fair play to the club for this. The supporters, myself included, are absolutely buzzing.
