Man United fans call for Marcus Rashford position change after England performance

Manchester United headed into the international break on a real low. No win in three meant Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is feeling the heat once again.

Sloppy goals were conceded, while up the other end, we weren’t scoring enough. The burden tends to fall on young Marcus Rashford who is now the most senior forward within the squad.

After scoring two against Chelsea, the goals have dried up in the three games previous – while the performances from the youngster haven’t been all-too-convincing.

Anyway, for England, Rashford played in a wider role and the general consensus on United Twitter was that he’s actually better as a left-winger than when he plays through the middle.

United fans believe the 21-year-old should make the positional switch, and you do tend to agree with them…

I love Rashford, and this may change in the future because he’s still only young, but he’s just not prolific enough to start as the #9. The problem, if he moves to left-wing, is that it’s Daniel James’ best position, while Anthony Martial also excels out there.

Again, it’s just another tricky decision that Solskjaer has to make and one that I wouldn’t envy making myself. Does he stick with Rashford through the middle? Or does he completely reshuffle his front line to accommodate the Englishman?

I guess there’s the option of playing Rashford from the right, though that would mean he’d no longer have the ability to cut in on his favoured right-foot and do the damage like that…
