Harry Maguire continued to struggle vs Burnley last night, with the fans not that happy with the overall outing from their captain.
Manchester United would drop more Premier League points last night, despite what was a decent overall performance from Ralf Rangnick’s men.
The first half, in particular, was excellent. United controlled proceedings and could’ve easily been three or four up but for some dodgy refereeing decisions coupled with bad finishing.
Rangnick’s Reds seemed to sit back in the second half, inviting the pressure from Burnley and that eventually cost them two points. It was Rodriguez who’d score – though it was all United’s own fault.
Once again, Harry Maguire was culpable. He was just far too weak in a one-on-one battle with Wout Weghorst, with the naive defending summing up what has been a horrible run of form for the Englishman.
At this point, you have to wonder when Maguire will be dropped. It feels like the United captain is making a big mistake every single game – yet somehow he’s still starting matches and wearing the captain’s armband.
I get it, every player goes through rough patches but Maguire’s seem to be longer than most. It’s just the dumb mistakes that he consistently makes that leaves us all frustrated. Time and time again, he isn’t learning from those errors and it could well end up costing United a place in the top four.
Perhaps some time away from the starting line-up will do him the world of good…
As you’d imagine, the United fans would react in their droves as the key 28-year-old star’s struggles continued vs Burnley. He really was dreadful again…
