The footballing world is at a complete standstill and who knows how long this will be the case?
Weekends (and quite often midweeks) with Manchester United simply aren’t the same. It’s a feeling we better get used to over the next fortnight or so.
As you’d imagine, a lack of game-day coverage has led to more transfer stories to talk about. Right now, Old Trafford is being linked with a new name almost daily.
However, fans are fearing that United’s transfer budget is being spent elsewhere…
Many will know that the Glazer family also own an NFL team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Well, yesterday, the Florida-based outfit sanctioned a move to sign the best American Football player to ever do it; Tom Brady.
Brady will join as a free agent, earning $30m-per-year (£25m) over his two-year deal, the quarterback will earn $60m (£50m). There’s also a real possibility that his contract will hold the option for a third year…
As you’d imagine, fans began to fear the worst. Glazer money is now being pumped into signing the best player to ever play America’s national sport. Will United suddenly start to be neglected?
Well, as of right now, that remains to be seen. It will definitely be interesting to see if it impacts on this summer, though…
For now, I’ll leave you with fuming Reds fans who weren’t happy with the decision:
