Man United fans gutted as Jack Grealish joins Man City

Jack Grealish has joined Manchester City, leaving me, among many other Manchester United fans, feeling incredibly sad…

Well, after being keen admirers for Jack Grealish for at least a few years, Manchester United fans will be waking up feeling pretty disappointed this morning.

Jack Grealish, the England poster boy, has made a transfer away from Aston Villa. Sadly, for us, he’s heading to our noisy neighbours rather than Old Trafford…

The attacking midfielder, a well-known Manchester United fan as a youngster, has transferred to the Etihad in a deal that smashes the British transfer record, becoming the first £100million player.

For a footballer who has often been deemed perfect for United, to see him move to City definitely hurts. The ex-Villa skipper has that swagger, that arrogance, that brilliance. Sadly, though, this move was always unrealistic due to the fact that we now have Bruno Fernandes to play in that position instead.

Standing back for a second, if it was a straight choice between Grealish and Bruno, there’s only one man I’m choosing and he’s definitely not English.

That said, it always hurts when your rivals become indefinitely stronger. Grealish will no doubt improve Pep Guardiola’s side ahead of this campaign.

As you’d imagine, United fans would express their disappointment all over social media as the player who was deemed by one fan as ‘perfect for us’ makes his transfer elsewhere. We’ve compiled some fan reaction below.

Hopefully, Grealish struggles to make an impact at City, though right now, I find that extremely unlikely…
