James Garner continues to impress the Old Trafford Faithful, with another top loan display for Nottingham Forest, this time vs Preston.
Manchester United’s production line of young talent is seemingly continuing. At youth level, the Old Trafford club has some absolute gems on the books. From Hannibal Mejbri to Charlie McNeill, with a little Anthony Elanga sprinkled in the middle.
To further their development, some players end up away from Old Trafford. Take James Garner for example. The Englishman has been on the brink of the first team for a couple of years, though Ole Gunnar Solskjaer chose to send Garner on loan. Right now, he’s at Nottingham Forest – where he’s absolutely loving his football.
The box-to-box midfielder has won the hearts of Forest fans this season, with Garner capping off a memorable campaign in style. Today, the United loanee would score a world-class goal to give his side the lead, while putting in a top-drawer overall performance.
Sadly, it wouldn’t be enough for Forest who’d eventually lose 2-1, though Garner’s individual display showed everyone that he’s good enough to play at the highest level in professional football.
The question is, where will Garner be playing next season? The Englishman is a cut above Championship football and he needs his chance in the Premier League. Personally, I’d be integrating him into the first-team setup at United, though I can just as easily see Jimmy going out on loan to somewhere like Newcastle United or Crystal Palace. That’s a decision for the gaffer to make, though…
As you’d expect, the Man United fans would rave about the performance on social media, with the star putting in a top display while on loan.
