Luke Shaw is in the form of his life, with that continuing vs Burnley. The Old Trafford Faithful absolutely loved it.
Well, it wasn’t pretty but Manchester United stuck another three points on the board. Once again, the resiliency was there for all to see, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side never giving in.
Defending well against Burnley is an absolute must – although it’s always tricky to deal with their aerial threat and physicality. Amongst the back line, you’d have to credit Luke Shaw as the best overall performer.
He did his job, not giving the winger he was marking a sniff of a chance, while always trying to commit himself forward and join in on the attack.
The moment of the game for Shaw came in the 93rd minute. Burnley were attacking in numbers when Shaw would get a huge tackle in, which set United on their way to make it 3-1 through Edinson Cavani.
I’m just so delighted for Shaw. I’ve said it a lot recently, I thought he was finished at Old Trafford. How wrong I was. The former Southampton man has been playing some brilliant stuff all season long and I bet he’s buzzing from a personal point of view. Long may this continue.
You know, right now I’m campaigning Shaw to be United’s Player of the Year. Couple his consistency with a quiet few games from Bruno Fernandes and I reckon the left-back has overtaken our Portuguese Magnifico on that front.
As you’d imagine, the United fans would once again heap the praise on the Reds star, who was vitally important for the club during their win.
