Man United fans were left impressed with Diogo Dalot, who played well vs Arsenal yesterday.
Here at Old Trafford Faithful, we love success stories. We also love to be proven wrong if it benefits Manchester United Football Club. Diogo Dalot has done just that.
The Portugal international has often been rooted to the bench since making the move to Old Trafford. Yesterday, though, he was offered a chance by Michael Carrick following an injury to Aaron Wan-Bissaka. He grabbed that opportunity with both hands.
The full-back brought attacking quality to the game from the right-back slot, which is something we haven’t seen an awful lot of this term.
Despite being used sparingly, Dalot played a confident game, consistently threatening the Arsenal defence due to his pace and work ethic. It was his pass that paved the way through the defence for Cristiano Ronaldo’s first goal.
Defensively, Dalot was good enough too. The Portugal international often lets that aspect of his game ruin the match, but last night he was every bit as good as the other defenders on the field – and we have to praise him for that.
I was genuinely buzzing for him. I thought there was no way back at Old Trafford for Dalot following his loan last year. But whisper it quietly, he looks like a Ralf Rangnick player if you ask me…
As you’d imagine, the Man United fans were buzzing all over social media, as the 22-year-old reminds us all that there’s a top player in there somewhere. Fair play to him.
