We’re talking about the perfect partner for Harry Maguire, most notably because he has pace, awareness and the skill to execute the last-ditch tackle. However, time spent on the sidelines has seriously hampered his development.
Bailly hasn’t had a full pre-season in so long. He either misses the start of seasons or picks up an early injury which immediately places him at a disadvantage. This time around, though, we’re hopeful things will be different.

Although Donny van de Beek would win the Man of the Match award, for us, Bailly was by far the best player out there. He won tackles, completed his passes, intercepted dangerous Luton attacks and looked like his old self throughout.
I just echo the thoughts of United fans everywhere. For Bailly, it’s now about keeping fit. If the centre-half can get a good run of games under his belt, the worst should be behind him. I’d definitely start him against Brighton this weekend in place of Victor Lindelof, that’s for sure…
