Man United fans were left buzzing with what they saw from James Garner vs Arsenal.
Manchester United Football Club have been in reverse this season. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a thing of the past while the rebuilding job is fully underway for Ralf Rangnick.
Our new German tactician specialises in harnessing and developing youth talent – rather than making marquee signings. That’s why the academy lads should be giving that extra 10% as they look for their first-team opportunities.
One man we’ve been huge fans of for a while is James Garner. The Englishman has been on the fringes of things for a few years, though the talent is so obviously there.
Garner would spend loan spells at both Watford and Nottingham Forest last term, before moving back to Forest this time around.
Yesterday, he’d take on Arsenal in the FA Cup. This was his chance to pit his wits against top Premier League midfielders – and our academy product would not disappoint.
Pinpoint passing, an outstanding work ethic, a toughness in defence and genuine quality in pretty much every aspect. We’re looking at someone who could seamlessly slot into our starting line-up already.
With Fred, Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic all blowing hot and cold, surely it’s only a matter of time before Garner is granted an opportunity that he so richly deserves?
I’d like to think he’ll be involved heavily in our pre-season over the summer, with a view to bringing him into the first-team squad for the 2022/23 campaign.
As you’d imagine, the United fans were delighted with the display from the loanee, with many believing he’s ready for his Reds chance… What do you reckon?
